Netflix subscribers are in uproar after learning that the streamer has left out a number of their favorite shows from its 2025 slate – including Outer Banks, One Piece, and Bridgerton. On Thursday morning, the streaming giant announced that the final seasons of Squid Game and Stranger Things will air later this year. Popular series Wednesday, Ginny & Georgia, Monster, Emily In Paris and The Witcher are also set to return.
However, the final season of Outer Banks, Bridgerton season four, and One Piece season two were not listed – and neither were The Gentlemen season two, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Beef season two, Black Doves season two and 3 Body Problem season two. Bridgerton season three arrived in May 2024, while Outer Banks Banks season four aired more recently in October. One Piece, however, premiered in August 2023, meaning fans will have waited three years for it to come back to the small screen.
Of course, furious fans took to social media to complain about being forced to hang fire. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, one vented: 'Really no reason for a show like Bridgerton to take this long to premiere when it's not even a long season and the filming is already happening a whole year without Obx [Outer Banks] and Bridgerton what am I gonna do?'. 'Wait Bridgerton isn't on the list… I thought it's gonna come out this year?' said another.
Netflix subscribers are in uproar after learning that the streamer has left out a number of their favorite shows from its 2025 slate. It seems as though Bridgerton season four won't arrive until 2026. A third wrote: 'Dang, I was really hoping that One Piece would get a November-December date, but I bet they're gonna try going all out in the editing/visual effects room. Nonetheless, I'm gonna keep out for it next year!'.
'One Piece releasing after three years?' a fourth asked. 'I can only take so much bad news in such a short amount of time,' added a fifth. Echoing a similar sentiment, another said of One Piece's delay: 'No please not 2026 I cannot wait that long anymore.'. Another added: 'Yeah might as well end it at S2 if it's gonna take this long.'. Although left out of Netflix's 2025 slate, there is a tiny glimmer of hope that Bridgerton, One Piece, and Outer Banks could arrive before the end of the year as execs have said there could be scheduling changes in Q4.
It was revealed it October that filming had started on Bridgerton season four. The upcoming eight episodes will be adapted from the third book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, An Offer from a Gentleman, and will unfold the love story of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). One Piece fans have been left devastated over the delay of season two. The first series premiered in August 2023.
Furious fans took to social media to complain about the long wait between seasons. 'The scripts that [showrunner] Jess [Brownell] and her team have come up with are dynamite. They're really, really, really exciting,' Luke said at the time. 'The storyline is a bit of a twist on Cinderella. You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them. 'It's really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton.'.
