Netflix fans furious after discovering why one of its best shows will leave in 2027

Netflix lovers, the time has almost come to say goodbye to one of your favourite shows. From Gossip Girl to Prison Break and all the newbies in between, the streaming giant has no shortage of TV shows you’d be happy to binge. But there’s one show you may want to watch sooner rather than later.
It was recently announced that Breaking Bad’s long-time home at Netflix is coming to an end in 2027 due to a licensing agreement. While it was initially meant to depart the streamer as early as this month, they came to an agreement with Sony Pictures Television to extend streaming rights for another two years.
So, with five seasons and 62 episodes in total, viewers will have more than enough time to get through the series once, twice, or even three times if they so desire. Despite an extension deal presumably being made with the intention of keeping fans happy, it doesn’t seem to have worked and has resulted in a mixed bag of emotions.
Taking to the social media site X, many shared their upset at the decision. A confused @jahKobain1300 commented: ‘Why? This one the greatest series of all time’. While an upset @eastcoastcan420 pointed out too many good shows have already departed the streamer: ‘Nooooo, we already lost @Wentworth @Wentworth_UK ,why @BreakingBad ? Y’all trying to take away my enjoyment. Better not touch trailer park boys. That’s my go to show. I’ll be devastated.’.
