NETFLIX has quietly increased the price of subscription plans in the UK jumping by up to £2 per month. Users of the standard plan will see the biggest jump, soaring from £10.99 to £12.99. The most expensive premium plan will now costs users £18.99, up by £1. And the cheapest ad-supported tier has seen its first price hike too, also going up £1 from £4.99 to £5.99. The new prices were quietly revealed on Netflix's subscription page today and will affect both new and existing users, the firm confirmed to The Sun.
“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix," a rep for the company said. The move is also bad news for those who pay for extra members after Netflix banned password sharing. An extra account outside your household will now cost £5.99 instead of £4.99, up by £1.
