After You season four part two aired on Netflix back in March 2023, fans have been eagerly anticipating news about the fifth and final season. On Thursday (December 19), viewers were finally treated to an update as the streaming platform shared a first-look poster. The image sees principal character Joe Goldberg in the middle, alongside various newspaper cut-outs of his victims over the years, hinting that he could finally have to pay for his crimes.
Netflix penned on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Goodbye, you. The killer final season of YOU is coming in 2025.". However, fans weren't so happy after the streaming platform failed to specify a release date, simply revealing the show will drop at some point next year. One person commented: "I was celebrating until I found out that it will be released in 2025.".
Another viewer quipped: "You made us wait an entire year for what? We could've been had part 1 and part 2 or the whole series. This show still has dedicated fans BUT a lot of the casual fans been moved on and found other shows.". Somebody else asked: "When Netflix? Give me the exact date! Let me not hear November next year." Another person wrote on Reddit: "Netflix teasing this coming in 2024 and then getting pushed back ticks me off. It better be January/February time.".
You follows charming but dangerous Joe who lets his obsessive nature take him to extreme and sometimes fatal measures in order to protect himself. The final season will see the character return to his native New York city to enjoy his happily ever after, but his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past.
