Netflix has done it again, delivering a sequel so quick off the mark it's broken records on the platform, and fans can't seem to get enough. The original film, rooted in the real-life story of a man of the people, hit screens in 2023, with Netflix jumping at the chance to further unravel the narrative.

Featuring Rory Kinnear, the Bank of Dave chronicles the remarkable journey of Burnley's own David Fishwick a self-starting millionaire who channelled his wealth into aiding his community during the 2007-2008 financial meltdown. Audiences were enamoured by the uplifting, motivational yarn, and now Kinnear is back for more in the eagerly anticipated follow-up, Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger.

This second instalment delves into Fishwick's crusade against predatory payday lenders, a campaign which has since contributed to the downfall of many such businesses, reports Lancs Live. Adding fresh faces alongside the returning Kinnear as our intrepid protagonist and Jo Hartley as Nicola, his wife, the new line-up boasts Chrissy Metz, Amit Shah, Leila Farzad, and Rob Delaney.

Early responses from viewers suggest that The Loan Ranger is equally as impactful as its forebear. Ecstatic fans are lighting up social media with their praises, and one particular admirer exclaims on X: "@BankofDave #bankofdave2 I know the recent movie has entertainment value just for the crack of it and yet I still love it.
