Neymar is currently in talks over a shock MLS move with Al-Hilal failing to register him amid fears the Brazilian can't reach his former heights. A switch to Chicago Fire is now on the cards for the ex-Barcelona and PSG man, who has endured a nightmare time since moving to Saudi Arabia. The world's most expensive player opted to leave Paris for the Middle East, but injuries and form have marred his spell.
The Eastern Conference side can make a deal work financially and negotiations are continuing with Neymar's representatives as he considers joining former his team-mate, Lionel Messi, in the United States. Neymar's minutes are set to be limited going forward with Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus confirming that the Brazilian will NOT be registered for league action, meaning the player will be restricted to only Asian Champions League games for the rest of the season.
Jesus said: "The Saudi League is one of the best leagues in the world. All Al-Hilal players can play for any club in Europe. Neymar can no longer play at the level we are used to. Things have become difficult for him, unfortunately. He is still under contract with Al-Hilal and it may be up to him to decide his future.
"It depends on the administration. I don't know anything about Neymar's future. We have a place available on the list, reserved for a player born in 2003 or later.". Chicago have Neymar on their Discovery List. As per MLS rules clubs can have up to five players on their list and that means no other rival in the league can sign - or even told talks - with Neymar unless Chicago give it the green light.
