The actor and comedian on being a people-pleaser, the benefits of looking after himself, and his celebrity crush. Born in London, Nick Frost, 52, was working in a restaurant when he met Simon Pegg. The pair appeared in the Channel 4 sitcom Spaced from 1999 to 2001, and went on to make films such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Paul, which they co-wrote. Frost wrote, produced and stars in the comedy horror Get Away, which is available on Sky Cinema. He lives with his partner in London and has three children.

When were you happiest?. Now. Five years ago, I started looking after myself a bit more, emotionally and spiritually, and it’s paid dividends. What is your greatest fear?. Dying when my children are still young. I know how much it hurt me. I was 30 when my mum died and 39 when my dad died, and even then, that was too young.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?. I am a massive people-pleaser and it brings me nothing but trouble. What is the trait you most deplore in others?. Manipulative greed and hate. What was your most embarrassing moment?. I’ve pooed myself a couple of times.

Describe yourself in three words. Big dick energy. What do you most dislike about your appearance?. I have a wonky ear that sticks out. What is your most unappealing habit?. Sometimes if I clip off a big toenail, I’ll crunch it in my mouth. Who is your celebrity crush?.
