Ōkami creator tells fans to avoid Wii version ahead of sequel The director behind Ōkami has expressed his dislike for one version of the game, as he continues work on the follow-up.
In response to a fan who asked if they should play the Wii version over PC, Kamiya replied: ‘The Wii version is not the original.
Kamiya’s distaste for the Wii version might be because it doesn’t feature the original credits created by Clover due to legal constraints, something which he expressed back in 2008.
The action-adventure game was originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2006 (and 2007 in Europe), but was later ported to the Wii by another studio, Ready At Dawn, in 2008.
Developer Hideki Kamiya is known for directing some of the best games ever, between his work at Capcom like Resident Evil 2 and Bayonetta at PlatinumGames.
