Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner feels Ben Chilwell can hit the ground running after looking to kick-start his career with a loan move away from Chelsea.
"When we were looking for players on the market, Ben was always one of our top targets," said Glasner, who confirmed Chilwell was likely to feature in Monday night's FA Cup fourth round tie at Doncaster.
Chilwell endured a torrid 18 months after he struggled with injury issues before new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca quickly decided the former Leicester full-back would not be part of his plans this season.
Glasner confirmed Eberechi Eze will be rested for the trip to South Yorkshire as he manages an ongoing foot issue, while defender Chris Richards has missed training through illness.
"He played wing-back under Thomas Tuchel (at Chelsea) when they won the Champions League, he can play in a back four, so many aspects worked for him.
