Pat Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, decided to clap back at some of his son's detractors after an AFC Championship victory. On Sunday evening, the Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs for the fourth time in five years - setting up a return to the Super Bowl.
Mahomes Sr. took to his account on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday to rub in the victory. 'Today is a great day to not be from Buffalo...,' the 54-year-old Texas native posted on social media. Mahomes Sr., who himself was a former pitcher in Major League Baseball for 11 seasons, is celebrating as his son reaches the fourth Super Bowl in his career.
Mahomes the quarterback did a little trolling of his own in the aftermath of the win over his rival Josh Allen. Pat Mahomes Sr. took the liberty of firing some shots at Buffalo Bills fans on Monday morning. This came after his son, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, led Kansas City to victory over the Bills to reach the Super Bowl. It also came after the QB was abused by Bills fans this year.
Earlier in the season, Bills fans had resorted to shocking measures to mock Mahomes before Buffalo's regular-season 30-21 win over the reigning Super Bowl champions at Orchard Park. Member of Bills Mafia had strung up a Kermit the Frog doll - the iconic Muppets character that Mahomes has frequently claimed to resemble due to his voice - in his No. 15 jersey and signature mop of curls.
