It has been a tough few days for the Mahomes family, with the news about his maternal grandfather's health arriving just days before the Chiefs fought it out with the Bills for a place in the Super Bowl.
After the game - and after the Chiefs had sealed progression to New Orleans next month - Mahomes was quick to come together with his family on the field. In an emotional family moment, the quarterback posed with his mom Randi, wife Brittany - just days after she gave birth to their third child - dad Patrick Snr, brother Jackson and half-sister Mia.
The photo, which was posted by controversial figure Jackson, was accompanied by the caption 'SUPERBOWL TIME!!!' and includes red and yellow ticker tape floating in the background. It was an incredible night for Kansas City at Arrowhead, as they edged out Buffalo to win a third straight AFC Championship title.
