Everybody loves a dupe, as splurging upwards of £100 on a designer perfume may not be feasible - but this doesn't mean you don't want to smell good. That's why high street shops started to sell perfumes that are really similar to the real deal but can save you a serious chunk of change. And this Zara perfume is no different – with some believing it smells eerily similar to YSL's iconic 2020 release 'Libre Intense'.
90ml of the iconic fragrance will set you back a whopping £145, but the Zara version, called Zara Golden Decade, which is praised for making you "smell amazing," will cost you just £22.99. TikTok user @bryan_njh said that Zara's version was a "95% dupe for YSL's Libre Intense". He said: "I swear this is so good. This opens up to a slightly sweeter, stronger orange blossom opening, but I swear to you, in the dry down, it smells 100% the same".
Bryan continued: "You get that lovely sweet vanilla facet, a little bit of freshness from the citrus, and the lavender". He then smelled the perfume again, exclaiming: "Oh my god. This is probably one of the best Zara dupes out there... it's absolutely amazing, you're not gonna regret it.". Zara's £22.99 version is described as "A warm, elegant and enveloping eau de parfum for a woman who wants to convey a sense of freedom and express her emotions to the fullest." The notes are "white floral bouquet (jasmine, orange blossom) enhanced by the juicy facets of mandarin" and it also contains "sweet and addictive lavender" as the "finishing touch".
YSL's Libre is so iconic because it was the first women's fragrance to be based on a floral lavender profile. Fenwick says it was "built on old tensions, between a masculine structure of Lavender and an ultra-feminine Orange Blossom" - so from the description, it seems as though Zara's version is on the money. If you'd prefer something less intense, however, and would prefer to go for the original Libre scent, then Zara Golden Sweet Decade is the perfume for you. Currently reduced from £22.99 to £15.99 for 80ml, it's the perfect scent if you want the lightness of the original, but it is also long-lasting. Plus, it'll save you almost £100 when compared with the original scent.
