Pete Doherty showed off his dramatic weight loss on Thursday after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes earlier this year. The Libertines musician, 45, who had a highly publicised battle with drugs, has given up the 'main poisons' to improve his health after his doctor issued a stark warning.

And the singer showed off the result of his lifestyle change, putting his trimmer frame on full display in a snap to his Instagram. Pete shared a snap to his followers of himself sat on some steps in a dapper suit, smoking a cigarette. The singer looked like he'd stepped straight out of a Guy Richie film as he posed in a grey and black hounds tooth suit over a light blue shirt and patterned tie.

The front man of rock band Babyshambles added a flat cap, red socks and black suede shoes to his look and puffed away on a cigarette as he patted his beloved dog Gladys who was sat beside him.
