Broadcaster Piers Morgan is leaving Rupert Murdoch's News UK in a huge career move. The former Good Morning Britain host will now focus on his Uncensored YouTube channel in the US as he moves to the online platform. News UK – publisher of The Sun and The Times and owner of Times radio – has agreed a deal with Piers that will see him take ownership of the Uncensored media brand.

It currently has a 3.6million following on YouTube and Piers is understood to have struck a four-year revenue-sharing deal with News UK. The Murdoch-owned company will receive part of the advertising revenue generated by Piers Morgan Uncensored until 2029, according to Sky News.

Piers returned to News UK in January 2022 on a three-year deal. It included writing for The Sun and the New York Post as well as presenting shows on the since folded Talk TV channel. Piers' book deal with Murdoch's publisher Harper Collins is still expected to go ahead.

According to an insider, Piers will also continue to write occasionally for News Corporation's newspapers. In February last year, Piers announced last night he would be leaving TalkTV to focus on his Uncensored YouTube channel. He said he decided he no longer wanted to "to create my show for linear television" and admitted he has grown frustrated with creating a show in a TV-format when the majority of his viewers watch via different methods.

Piers told his followers "Some personal news" as he shared a link to a journalist reporting the news. The headline from Ben Smith reads: "News: Piers Morgan is ending his live broadcast show on UK's TalkTV, and going full YouTube. He talked to me about it." He told Smith his recent debates regarding Israel's bombardment of Gaza on his TV shows felt rushed on his hour-long TV show.
