Police investigate dog abuse after black labrador ‘Ted’ kicked at New Malden B&Q

Police have launched an investigation after receiving reports about a man violently abusing a black labrador at a New Malden B&Q store. A concerned shopper witnessed a man repeatedly kick and aggressively handle a dog wearing a turquoise/blue collar at Shannon Commercial Centre around 3:30pm on January 25th. The witness, posting on community site Nextdoor, described seeing a "tall white male" repeatedly assault a black Labrador named Ted on January 25th at Shannon Commercial Centre. "I saw a black lab with a turquoise/blue collar being kicked by his owner at least three times," the post said.
"One kick was actually more like stamp on the dog's back. The dog was well behaved and submissive, not doing anything wrong.". The witness also reported seeing the owner "violently tug on the dog's neck several times". A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police received reports of a man acting violently towards a dog at a store in Shannon Commercial Centre, New Malden at around 15:30hrs on Saturday, 25 January.
