Popular BBC drama Boiling Point shelved after one series despite being huge hit with fans The BBC has shelved the critically-acclaimed drama Boiling Point after just one series.
It stars Stephen Graham as Andy Jones, who had a heart attack and lost his restaurant, and Vinette Robinson as Carly, the head chef of the restaurant Point North.
“Boiling Point is on the shelf, so to speak, but if the right story or idea comes along then there's every chance it could be back on screens one day,” the source said.
The first series of the show, which also stars Izuka Hoyle, Hannah Walters, and Áine Rose Daly, ended with Carly accepting a wedding booking in a bid to improve the restaurant’s finances.
The Standard said in its review: “Boiling Point gives us just a taste of the anxiety and the adrenaline of this world.
