Prison officer beaten to death by 'pure evil' inmate as he walked him back to cell A prison officer has been attacked and killed by an inmate while walking him back to his cell.
Sheriff Brad Norman said during a press conference on Tuesday that Arron Semeion Thompson, 45, from nearby Ennis, has been charged with capital murder over Bias' death.
Sheriff Norman said: "Most of the time, law enforcement officers and detention officers deal with good folks having a bad day.
Officials said Thompson has been in jail since last month on charges of assaulting a public servant, public intoxication and evading arrest.
This comes after an unruly cruise ship passenger who allegedly flew into a drunken fit of rage died after his family claimed security injected him with a sedative.
