Probe after BBC-promoted rapper unmasked as killer of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen

An investigation is under way after convicted murderer Jake Farhi recorded drill music referencing his 2008 murder of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen. Fahri, 35, appears as balaclava-clad rapper TEN who boasts about violence in several videos. In one, available on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, TEN appears to reference Jimmy’s death with the lyrics: “Stuck it on a man and watched him melt like Ben and Jerry’s.
“Sharpen up my blade I’ve got to keep those necessary. Stay alert and kept it ready, any corner could be deadly. Altar boy Jimmy, 16, bled to death at the Three Cooks Bakery in Lee, south London, after Farhi threw a large glass dish that shattered and severed an artery in his neck.
In 2009, the then-19-year-old Farhi was jailed for life with a minimum term of 14 years at the Old Bailey for the murder. Now 35, he was released on licence in June 2023. An HM Prison and Probation Service said: “We are aware of this content and are investigating it as a priority.
“We take any material that could glorify violence or distress victims extremely seriously.”. Jimmy’s mother Margaret Mizen, awarded an MBE in 2013 for her work with husband Barry helping young people fleeing violence, said: “It’s very difficult to comment until I have read it but if this is true, I am very saddened as it will be a shock to the rest of my family.
