Ohio State hero Jack Sawyer has revealed what Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers told him after he strip sacked his former roommate before scoring a game-sealing touchdown. 'Screw you,' Ewers said after Sawyer stole the ball and ran 83 yards to secure a 28-14 win for Ohio State - and book the Buckeyes' place in the college football national championship game.
At 4th and goal, with Texas trailing by seven points and only 2:27 on the clock, Ewers was blindsided by Sawyer. The defensive end knocked the ball out of the quarterback's hands to force a fumble. The ball bounced kindly into Sawyers' arms and he sprinted all the way to the end zone to secure a 28-14 Cotton Bowl win for the Buckeyes.
The touchdown was made even more remarkable by the fact that Ewers and Sawyer had shared a room - before the quarterback transferred from Ohio State to Texas. 'Yeah I did. He was walking off and he said, "screw you!", and started laughing,' the Ohio State star told ESPN. 'That's my boy. Obviously we were roommates when he was here and I have a lot of respect for him and the rest of the Texas team.'.
