Reform UK takes over the Tories as the main rival to the Labour Party

Reform UK has said it now has more members than the Conservative Party after the controversial party revealed its membership numbers on social media had reached 131,690 this morning. The latest known membership figure for the Tories is reportedly 131,680, according to the Telegraph.
It comes just months after the General Election which saw the party win five seats in the Parliament and gain voters in traditionally Conservative areas. Now, an entrepreneur has told Metro Sir Keir Starmer’s ‘anti-business’ Labour government could be the reason behind why more of the UK’s entrepreneurs are heading to Nigel Farage’s Reform party.
Adam Graham, 46, has founded several businesses, worked with Robbie Williams and was the CEO of a global public company during his 25-year career. He said: ‘Farage has always been a joke but he continues to surprise people. It’s entirely possible that Reform could become the official opposition if the Tories don’t sort themselves out.
‘And I wouldn’t back them to do that. They’ve gone from being completely irrelevant to potentially something that cannot be discounted.’. Mr Graham, who is based in Essex, added that Elon Musk’s rumoured £100m investment in Reform could further increase their electoral chances.
Reform’s surge could be a blow to the Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch who took on the party’s leadership in early November following a disastrous election result for the previous ruling party. Nigel Farage claimed at the weekend that 1,000 young people had joined the party in less than two days.
