It identified the most popular job roles and sectors that British workers would like to switch in the coming 12 months - and the top contender was dog grooming. A whopping 19,272 searches in the canine pampering field were made per month, for both training courses or job opportunities.

Aside from clipping poodle paws and shampooing beagles, the UK workforce is also striving to land jobs as electricians, plumbers and Phlebotomists - medical professionals who draws blood samples from patients for testing. The survey found that it signalled a move to careers that have self-employment opportunities and fulfill personal values.

'A lot of the roles in this ranking are self-employed or involve working alone, allowing employees more control over their working hours, which suggests that this is something employees are lacking in their current roles,' said Ertul Topuzoglu, CEO of tecnovy Academy.

'Dog grooming is a fascinating result for the most desirable career change in the UK. 'Despite being one of the lower-paid jobs on the list, the ranking suggests that workers are willing to learn new skills to pursue a career they will find emotionally rewarding.
