Jurgen Klopp will not be at RB Salzburg's friendly clash with Bayern Munich, despite his new role as Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer, according to reports from BILD. The former Liverpool boss started his first post since leaving Anfield, though is set to miss what would have previously appeared to be a key outing at one of Red Bull's flagship clubs.
The Austrian giants, much like opponents Bayern, are busily finalising their plans ahead of the resumption of action following the Winter break. As such, it might have represented a good opportunity to get a proper lay of the land with the players and coaches at Salzburg, though it would appear he has decided not to attend.
According to the German outlet, Klopp was keen to avoid his presence detracting from 'the sporting aspect' of the match. Marco Rose meanwhile, manager of another Red Bull flagship side in RB Leipzig, was clearly excited to get to work with Klopp. Jurgen Klopp has reportedly decided not to attend RB Salzburg's clash with Bayern Munich.
RB Salzburg are one of Red Bull's flagship football sides and take on Bayern in a friendly. Klopp has officially started his new role as Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull in the new year. 'We are looking forward to his network, his experience and to him as a person,' he said.
