I’m A Celebrity star Reverend Richard Coles has revealed certain scenes weren’t aired, after he chose to shower completely in the buff. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, 62, joined the likes of Love Island’s Maura Higgins, McFly singer Danny Jones and Coleen Rooney on the jungle competition last year.
He formed a particularly close bond with social media star GK Barry, and made it all the way to the final, finishing in third place. Reverend Richard and GK have now reunited since returning home for a special edition of her podcast where they reminisced on their jungle antics.
At one point, the pair admitted there were several conversations they had that would have gotten them ‘cancelled’ if aired. ‘The amount of conversations we had in there, and I thought, “If this gets aired, it could be a tricky one here,”‘ GK said, with the retired vicar replying: ‘We might both be cancelled!’.
One conversation in the camp saw GK educate Reverend Richard on ‘scissoring’ as they opened up about their sexuality. ‘I see my future, and it involves scissoring now,’ the podcaster said, telling a clueless Reverend Richard that it was a ‘lesbian thing’, and insisting he probably didn’t want to know any further.
Referencing their chat, GK said on her podcast: ‘Luckily, the one they aired was scissoring, and I was shocked they aired that because I thought it’s ITV, they won’t air that.’. As Reverend Richard began guessing it had something to do with ‘gymnastics’, GK replied: ‘You’re so close, and I think you should not let your brain wonder any further than gymnastics.’.
