Rod Stewart hires £100 million super yacht for 80th birthday bonanza

Sir Rod Stewart is celebrating his 80th birthday in style - after he took his family on an all expenses paid holiday costing over £2million. The legendary musician, who turns 80 on Friday, is having a 10-day holiday onboard a £100 million super yacht in Barbados, spending quality time with his family. The trip comes after he flew them all first class to Florida and told them to they would not need to pay a penny during the celebrations. Rod previously spent time onboard a luxury 197ft, £274,000-a-week yacht in Italy in summer 2022.
But for his big birthday he has gone one better and set sail on a 288ft vessel which features nine suites for guests, as well as a beauty salon, a gym, a Hammam, a swimming pool and a helipad. The birthday party which is lasting over a week is reported to be costing Rod up to £2.5 million.
It's thought up to 14 guests are attending the exclusive do including wife Penny Lancaster, 53, sons Alastair Wallace, 19, and Aiden Patrick, 13, as well as Rod's daughter Kimberly Stewart, 45. Rod will be footing the bill for everything and his son Alastair, who he shares with wife Penny, took to social media with a selection of snaps.
He shared a snap of the gang climbing a giant slide as they prepared to make a splash into the sea. In another photo the family were later seen all enjoying a group dinner as they waved their napkins in the air at La Guérite Beach in St Barths. One music source said: "Rod is celebrating a big milestone and it is such a big year for him so he wanted to do it in style. He loves spending time with his family and the boat trip is the perfect way to relax.".
