An upcoming Star Wars film that has been long in development is getting a big boost with the potential casting of star Ryan Gosling. The 44-year-old actor is in talks to star in the untitled Star Wars movie project that is being directed by Deadpool and Wolverine filmmaker Shawn Levy, via THR.

Levy first signed on to direct and develop the project back in 2022, with Johnathan Tropper, who wrote Levy's The Adam Project - coming aboard to write the script. The project had been put on the back burner while Levy completed work on the final season of Stranger Things, but now that filming is complete, this is moving ahead.

There is no word on what character Gosling may be playing, or if it has already been established within the Star Wars universe or if it's a brand new character.
