THE killer dad of 10-year-old Sara Sharif is “terrified” of returning to his cell – fearing he will be targeted again after being slashed with the jagged lid of a tuna tin. Monster Urfan Sharif, 43 - ambushed in his cell by two inmates who sliced his neck and face – fears other lags will try to launch a copycat attack.
The fiend, who was attacked on New Year’s Day, has had treatment in the healthcare unit of HMP Belmarsh, south London where he is held after his murder conviction. A source said: “Sharif has had treatment and was lucky to survive. “He is not back on the wing yet, and may have to be placed in solitary for his own safety.
“The word is that others will try another attack – he has a target on his back because of who he is and what he did. “He will always be looking over his shoulder and, if anything, is even more of a target now. “Other inmates will not stop because he has been attacked once.
“Just look at people like Ian Huntley, who is another child killer, and has been attacked multiple times inside. “That’s the position Sharif is in now and it will not stop overnight. “The prison and its staff will do their utmost to keep him safe – and that could include isolating him for his own good.
“But you cannot do that for ever and he won’t be able to escape other cons indefinitely.”. Sharif was handed a minimum 40-year term last month for murdering innocent Sara in a two-year “campaign of torture” that saw her beaten, burned and bitten.
