SARAH Beeny shocked Good Morning Britain viewers after calling Andrew Tate "sensible" after being asked about his "disturbing" comments. The Property Ladder presenter, 52, appeared on the sofa this morning to promote the new series of her show, New Life in the Country.
But eyebrows were raised when conversation turned to Andrew Tate, who is facing human trafficking charges in Romania alongside his brother Tristan. Chatting to hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray, the property expert said many male role models for young boys had been cancelled.
She added: "There’s no point in cancelling a whole group of people to give opportunities to other people. "My kids will be fine. It’s the ones who don’t have anyone speaking to them. ‘It seems to me at the moment that we have a toxic left and toxic right and a lot of the people who should be talking in the middle don’t feel like they can talk.".
But the presenters pressed Beeny about her view of Tate's "disturbing and sexist" remarks. The mum, of four boys, replied: "I think it is really difficult to know who you are copying or looking up to because, you are right, Andrew Tate…actually a lot of what he says is relatively sensible you know.".
She added: "I was quite anti it and said 'oh it’s absolutely ridiculous' but one of my sons told me to listen to him (Tate) and I thought a lot of it is true. Like go for a run and you’ll feel better.". Fans were surprised by the New Life in the Country star and penned their opinions on social media.
