Sheffield police incident sees residents evacuated from homes as man 'has weapons' People have been evacuated from an apartment building amid concerns over a man alleged to have weapons.
Armed police descended on a road in Lewisham, south London, yesterday and placed the high street under lockdown after a man was seen waving a large knife from a window.
Other photographs taken from the scene this afternoon show a police cordon wrapped around shops opposite an HSBC branch on Lewisham High Street.
Roads near the scene in central Sheffield, including the Sheffield Parkway between Park Square roundabout and Derek Dooley Way, are expected to remain closed into this morning.
Further images showed at least six police vehicles and a fire engine parked along the high street in between two cordons.
