SMALL nuclear reactors to power millions of homes will get the go-ahead — as the PM vowed to stare down the “blockers”. The Government is putting growth ahead of locals’ concerns and reforms will see more projects approved, creating thousands of jobs. Rules will be relaxed to allow the small modular reactors to be built on more sites than currently permitted, with no planning expiry date. Britain’s last reactor, Sizewell B, was built in 1995.
