The singer took to Instagram to post the black and white photo which showed him as a young boy sitting on a mount of sand and a bucket at the seaside.
The 79-year-old wrote: 'From the streets of North London to the world stage, it all started here.'. Showing his charm at an early age, the global hitmaker stared into the camera wearing a matching shorts and top with a sleeveless jumper. The Maggie May hitmaker turns 80 this week and recently acknowledged his 'days are numbered' but said he had 'no fear' of death.
It comes as Glastonbury Festival announced Stewart is set to perform on the Pyramid stage in the Sunday teatime 'legends' slot making him one of the oldest artists to perform in the slot. He said: 'I'm aware my days are numbered but I've got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. 'I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say a few - probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.'.
