Sky Sports F1 pundit explains fury with Max Verstappen who 'just doesn't care'

Karun Chandhok has explained why he said he was "infuriated" by Max Verstappen after the Dutchman produced one of the best drives of his stellar Formula 1 career this year. The Brazilian Grand Prix proved to be one of the most pivotal of the season. Lando Norris qualified on pole with Verstappen all the way back in 17th on the grid, giving the Brit a huge opportunity to take a significant chunk out of his Red Bull rival's championship lead.
But Verstappen was at his imperious best in a wet and chaotic race and mastered the conditions to cut through the pack and win. Norris, meanwhile, limped him in sixth place, his drivers' title dream in tatters. That race was the third and final in a furious triple header which had seen the title contenders clash more than once on track. Norris was penalised for overtaking illegally in Austin, but then in Mexico a week later Verstappen was slapped with 20 seconds' worth of penalties for two furious incidents with his McLaren challenger on the opening lap.
With those incidents in mind, Sky Sports F1 pundit Chandhok reacted on air to Verstappen's Sao Paulo brilliance by admitting he was "infuriated" by the Dutchman. Explaining that comment in greater detail to Mirror Sport, he said: "If I go back to Mexico - turn four, you could argue they were racing - the stewards were right to find Max to blame in terms of the rules and the guidelines, the way they are written.
"But I think other drivers, we have seen other drivers do similar things, squeezing drivers off track - that is a whole other conversation, whether we think it is right or wrong. What he did at turn eight was completely unnecessary, and was a moment of road rage which was a legacy of what happened at turn four, because he felt annoyed about what happened.
