Four new yellow weather warnings for ice have been issued by the Met Office, while temperatures are expected to drop to -16°C in some parts. These warnings are in place for Wales, the East of England, North East of England and Northern Ireland and come into force at 4pm this afternoon and last until 10am tomorrow.
A yellow weather warning for ice for the South West of England is in force from 3am tomorrow until 11am tomorrow. Meanwhile, flights from and into Manchester Airport are delayed after it temporarily closed its runways due to ‘significant levels of snow’ amid weather warnings.
Separate yellow alerts for snow, ice and fog have been issued for today in parts of the North West, Wales, Cornwall and large swathes of Scotland and Northern Ireland while the South East and South West is facing yellow warnings for ice. Road and rail services in the warning areas are expected to face problems again today, with forecasters also warning of the potential for ice in places.
Trains currently aren’t stopping at Exeter Central after a gas leak near the railway. Trains running between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth / Yeovil Junction will run non stop through this station. Trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled, and Exeter Central will not be served.
