Squid Game season two has had fans in hysterics ever since its record-breaking Netflix release on Boxing Day. The twists and turns of its excitement-inducing narrative, as well as THAT shocking cliffhanger ending, has viewers looking forward to the show's third instalment. Although the streaming giant is yet to announce an official release date for season three, its Korean YouTube channel unintentionally confirmed its debut for June 27, 2025.
It was featured in a video teaser for the new season to advertise the next iteration of the franchise, but it was promptly deleted. Fans managed to screenshot the release date and continue to feed the endless speculation. But put all that aside; you wouldn't believe what has had Squid Game fans squealing and squirming the most - unearthed footage of Lee Jung-jae, the actor who plays Player 456, Seong Gi-hun.
It's safe to say they may have just fallen in love... In a post on Reddit just days ago, one user shared a compilation video featuring a younger Jung-jae in what seems to be archive footage from the 90s. He can be seen rowing a boat, riding a bicycle, and exercising, all while giving the camera a cheeky and charming grin that seems to have captured the hearts of many.
Fans rushed to the replies to not only confess their complete and unwavering admiration of the Player 456 star, but also to share their shock and confusion that they are both the same person. One exclaimed: "Holy s***, okay Gi-hun", while another questioned: "Is that really him?".
