Baroness Carr also spoke to reporters about her fears for the safety of judges, in the face of a rising tide of online abuse and criticism of their decisions – sometimes based on partial or inaccurate media reporting.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday morning, the Lady Chief Justice revealed she has written to Mr Starmer and Lord Chancellor Shabana Mahmood to criticise the public challenge to the the judge’s decision.
