Stephen A. Smith has urged LeBron James to 'stop this' after his son, Bronny, had a difficult performance on Tuesday against the Sixers. The Lakers rookie, who has also spent time with the franchise's G-League squad, played a season-high 15 minutes as his team lost to Philly on the second night of a back-to-back.

But it was a rough night for the son of the four-time MVP as he went 0-5 from the floor and committed three turnovers. It brought the former USC player - who is averaging 0.3 points per game - to 1 of 16 shooting on the year, and Smith ultimately does not believe he's ready for the NBA.

'I am pleading with LeBron James as a father, stop this, stop this,' Smith said on ESPN's First Take Wednesday. 'We all know that Bronny James is in the NBA because of his dad.'. Smith acknowledged that Bronny playing with his father on opening night was an 'absolutely, positively wonderful story.'.

Bronny had a difficult outing against Philadelphia on Tuesday, going 0-for-5 from the field. 'And then reality sets in. We love what we're seeing from him in the G League - because that's where you belong, as you hone your skills and get better, and you legitimately earn, which I believe he has to the potential to do.
