Teen arrested after Met Police raid recovers 16 stolen phones and e-bike in Camden A teenager has been arrested after 16 stolen phones and an e-bike were recovered from a property in Camden following a police raid.
It comes as Met Police revealed it had seized over 1,000 stolen phones from mobile phone snatchers in just one week as part of an ongoing crackdown.
The force targeted those involved in stealing, handling and supplying stolen phones in a week of "co-ordinated activity" across London in a bid to disrupt the “£50 million-a-year trade in stolen phones".
Commander Owain Richards, leading the Met's response to phone thefts, said: "We are seeing phone thefts on an industrial scale, fuelled by criminals making millions by being able to easily sell on stolen devices either here or abroad.
A total of 16 mobile phones were found nearby and police seized a Surron electric motorcycle found outside the property.
