A man allegedly attempted to sexually assault or rob ten women during a four-hour spree in north and central London on Sunday, as police appeal for more possible victims to come forward. Detectives said a man approached the women between 06.40am and 10.25am in the City of London, Camden and Islington who either sexually assaulted them or attempted to steal from them.

On one occasion he made off with a woman’s bag. Issuing an appeal for any more potential victims, police said the man had been riding a bike. He is described as a black man, around 5ft 11ins in height and wearing a beanie hat and dark grey coat. A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged offences.

Met Detective Inspector Anna Deighton said: “Following Sunday’s arrest, detectives are making urgent enquiries to identify any potentially related offences. “I urge any victims of sexual offences or robbery to please contact police. “I can assure them they will be provided with any support they need, and the information given to police will help us to build a more complete picture of offending as we continue to focus on tackling violence against women and girls in London.”.

The arrested man appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with six counts of sexual assault, two counts of common assault and one count each of robbery and attempted theft. He was remanded in custody to next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 12.
