Tesco shoppers are rushing to track down a new deal at the supermarket’s in-house cafes – with many not aware of the deal or the cafe’s existence. Supermarket favourite Tesco is known and loved up and down the country, with almost 3,000 stores nationwide. Its extensive array of food, drinks, household essentials, homeware accessories and clothing have ensured it remains a mainstay among shoppers.

Like its competitors, the retailer takes advantage of social media to keep customers in the loop with new products and launches. Many supermarkets boast on-site cafes where shoppers can visit and indulge in budget-friendly meals and dishes. Tesco recently launched a new iced matcha latte collection, describing it on its website as “the perfect pick-me-up”. On Instagram, the retailer shared a photo of its strawberry flavour creation, which usually costs £3.95 but is available for £1 less to all Clubcard holders.

First introduced in 1995, the Clubcard is the retailer’s loyalty card. It operates on a point-based system, giving customers points based on money spent. The amount of points given varies depending on the kind of products bought, as well as where. It also offers shoppers discounts, with many items listed with “Clubcard prices” showing money off. Sometimes, this can be a minor discount while other times, it can be a little more significant.

Captioning the image of its new Strawberry Matcha latte on Instagram, Tesco penned: “Calling all matcha girlies - run to Tesco Café now and grab the Iced Strawberry Matcha latte for only £2.95 with your Tesco Clubcard.”. In the terms and conditions listed, the retailer explained the deal will last until March 3, where the new beverage will revert to its regular price of £3.95. Extras may incur an additional charge, and the offer is subject to availability.

It’s “available in participating cafes in England, Scotland and Wales” but is not available in Northern Ireland. Excited supermarket shoppers rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts. One person simply said: “Amazing!!” Another said: “What? Where can I try it?” A third was stunned to learn Tesco had cafes and asked: “I had no idea Tesco had cafés, is this everywhere?”.

Tesco replied advising to check the link in its bio to find a cafe location near where the customer lives. Another Tesco cafe fan then commented that the supermarket’s cafe was “good as well”. Another shopper quipped: “Me off to my local Tesco [running emoji]” but someone else, who claims to have tried it, had a different view and said: “I've tried this, it isn't very nice”. Another person added: “Ooooh hope Peterborough has this!” Several others simply tagged their friends to direct them to the post.
