The Dog House is making a heartwarming comeback to our screens tonight with a new series that promises to tug at your heartstrings. Since 2019, The Dog House has aired emotional first meetings between people and the dogs they want to adopt. Every episode we learn about each dog's backstory and learn more about their new owners as they meet for the first time. Viewers are taken on an emotional journey, discovering each pup's past and delving into the lives of the adopters as they lock eyes with their furry soulmates for the very first time.

The show celebrates the tireless efforts of the dedicated crew at the adoption centre as they strive to find forever homes for their four-legged friends. The new series of The Dog House will air on Channel 4 at 8pm on Thursday (January 30) and will be broadcast weekly until March 20. But where is The Dog House filmed and can you visit?. Cambridgeshire Live reports The Dog House is filmed at the Woodgreen Pets Charity in Cambridgeshire.

Located in Godmanchester and sprawling over 43 acres, Woodgreen opened its doors in 1987 and now stands proud as one of Europe's most expansive rehoming hubs. Woodgreen's efforts help the animals find a loving home again, or sometimes even for the first time in their lives. Every year, Woodgreen supports more than 8,000 pets and people with their care and expert advice. While some rescue centres only rehome their animals locally, the show says that the location of the adopters can be flexible, with each dog treated on a case-by-case basis.

Many dogs, cats, and other animals that find refuge with shelters need urgent medical care, time, and training. Shelters also focus on boosting the confidence of particularly anxious dogs to better their chances of adoption. The addition of foster carers is crucial to this process. Pet advisor Lizzie discussed the importance of Woodgreen featuring in the Channel 4 series, stating: "I think it's really important for Woodgreen to showcase what we do.

"Rescue is such a big area but nobody really sees the full span of everything that goes on from the animals entering the shelter, all the work that the teams do, right through to rehoming.". She added: "What the TV show has done for us is give a really good insight into how much work and dedication the team put into each and every single pet that we get. "And that's really key to keep the donations coming in and keep the public supporting us because without that it wouldn't happen, we wouldn't be able to do what we do.".

Visitors can visit the Woodgreen’s centre but they must make an appointment first. They must be interested in rehoming a pet or attending one of their workshops. You can find out more about making an appointment through their website, hich can be found through this link. Visitors are also welcome to visit the charity shop at any time.
