The EXACT times you'll find yellow sticker discounts at eight major supermarkets including Tesco and Aldi

A grocery expert has revealed the best times to grab a bargain at major supermarkets. Richard Price, a Grocery Expert at BritSuperstore, says most major supermarkets, including Morrisons, Aldi, and Asda, follow a two-stage discount strategy for perishable goods.
The first wave of discounts typically happens in the morning, followed by a larger reduction in the evening, just before closing. These reductions can range from 10 per cent to 25 per cent in the morning, with evening discounts reaching up to 90 per cent, especially for items nearing their expiry date.
Richard added: 'The reason supermarkets offer these discounts in two stages is purely strategic: they don’t want to take a loss on high-demand items right away, but they also need to clear excess stock before it goes to waste.'. Best time for deals:. Early evening (around 5 pm) for up to 90 per cent off, with some items marked down in the morning too. What to look out for:. Ready meals, fresh meats, dairy, pies, and fruit and vegetables are often reduced significantly, sometimes by 90 per cent.
Price added: 'The final discounts are typically applied to items that are nearing their use-by dates, such as meats and fresh bread.'. Look out for the ‘Mark-Down Section’ at Tesco for the best reductions on items close to their use-by dates. Just before closing time, specifically for perishable items.
