The Great Christmas Bake Off is on its way, so when are the new famous faces going to “get ready, set, bake”?. With the summer and Georgie Gasso’s victory in The Great British Bake Off both a distant memory, there is now the Christmas spin-off to get excited about.
From baking tasty wintery-themed treats to the judges’ cheeky innuendos, there is plenty to get hyped about ahead of the family-friendly Channel 4 classic. The wait is nearly over for The Great Christmas Bake Off as the first episode will air on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, at 8pm on Channel 4.
Fans will then be treated to a second episode for a New Year 2024 special, airing on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 7.40pm on Channel 4. The Christmas Eve episode is going to see soap stars put their skills in the kitchen to the test. EastEnders ’ Natalie Cassidy will go head-to-head with her onscreen sibling Dean Gaffney, joining Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati, as well as Emmerdale ’s Chris Bisson and Sheree Murphy.
The New Year special, on the other hand, will welcome back former Bake Off stars. Taking part in the episode will be season one’s Lee Harris, season three’s James Morton, Norman Calder from season five, Peter Sawkins from series 11, Kevin Flynn from the 13th outing, as well as Nicky Laceby from season 14 fame.
For both festive specials, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding will be back for presenting duties, as well as Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith as the show’s resident experts. The first episode of The Great Christmas Bake Off will be available to watch on Christmas Day at 8pm and the second on January 3 at the slightly earlier time of 7.40pm, both on Channel 4.
