How do you eat your Cadbury Creme Egg?. A survey of 1,500 lovers of the chocolate treat has unveiled the most popular methods for indulging in a Cadbury Creme Egg, ranging from traditional to utterly bizarre. Some favoured techniques include sucking out the creme, peeling back the foil like a banana and using a teaspoon. Some even squish it with a rolling pin before eating it with a fork.
But the most popular approach, used by a quarter of Creme Egg fans, involves biting off the top and using the tongue to savour the gooey inside. However, simply taking a big bite and enjoying the chocolate and filling together came in a close second. Cadbury, the egg's manufacturer, commissioned the research to launch its 'Admit It To Win' competition, where fans can confess their eating habits and potentially win up to £10,000.
One individual confessed to eating the gooey centre first, then freezing the outer chocolate shell overnight to enjoy the next day. Another fan took their love for the treat to new heights by dipping chips into it, while another admitted to sucking out the goo with a straw.
"We've long asked 'how do you eat yours?' said Spokesperson Joshua Collier, "But honestly, there's no right or wrong way and people should do their thing.". The study also revealed that 16% of fans admit to eating their egg in secret, fearing judgement from others over their eating method.
