Attracting millions of tourists from around the globe each year, London is one of the most popular cities to visit in the world. From Buckingham Palace to Big Ben and the London Eye, it is a capital rich in history and culture with numerous well known landmarks.

However, for every tourist that discovers a hidden gem of a pub or a secret spot known only to locals, there are many more that get lured in by busy or underwhelming attractions. Taking to TikTok, content creator Ash - who uses the platform to give tips and tricks to users about things to do in the UK - shared the tourist traps that he would urge first-time visitors to avoid in the city.

His examples include EL&N Cafe, a chain that claims to be 'the most Instagrammable cafe in the world', as well as the Heathrow Express. Several of Ash's points related to the cost of the experiences and whether he thought they were worth the price. For instance, a consistent bugbear of Ash's is the use of rickshaws in the city, as he warned of previous instances where he has seen tourists charged '£50 to £70 for what is essentially a five-minute walk'.
