Elon Musk should give the Conservatives a $100million donation instead of handing it to Reform if he wants to defeat the 'woke mind virus' in the UK, a top Tory said today. Shadow business secretary Andrew Griffith tried to muscle in on talks between Nigel Farage's party and the hard-right Donald Trump ally about handing over cash.
Mr Farage met X owner Mr Musk at Trump's Florida headquarters on Monday, saying they had discussed money and that there will be 'ongoing negotiations' with the tech billionaire. It prompted Mr Musk, who will oversee the Trump administration's efficiency drive to claim it is 'time for massive Reform in Britain'.
But asked about the potential donation today Mr Griffith told Sky News: ‘What I would say to Elon is he has been campaigning a lot about freedom of speech, he talks a lot about the ‘’woke mind virus’’, this whole thing that he thinks is affecting the world.
‘I would say look at the Conservative Party, look at what Kemi Badenoch did in government on things like the gender agenda, protecting children from the Tavistock clinic. ‘When it was Nigel Farage who got debanked by Nat West it was not Reform, it was people like Toby Young and myself that were standing up and fighting that battle.
‘There is only one official opposition party in the UK and there is only one party that is daily taking the fight to this socialist government and that is the Conservatives.’. Elon Musk has claimed it is 'time for massive Reform in Britain' after meeting Nigel Farage to discuss a $100million donation to the rightwing party that could upend UK politics .
