The boat - called The Ameray 888 - had set off on an excursion with before disaster struck off Phuket on Monday but a desperate rescue mission was then sparked.

It was bound for another tourist hotspot - Koh Hey Island - but a distress call was sent shortly after the ship set sail.

The boat - worth around £380,000 - set off from the island at around 12:30pm on Monday 13 January.

A desperate rescue mission was launched after the vessel sank from view in just 20 minutes.
