With uncertainty in the air about his future plans beyond this current NFL season, current and former teammates Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce still sing his praises. The tight end is set for his seventh consecutive AFC Championship game appearance this Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills as Kansas City hopes to reach the Super Bowl for a third consecutive season and the fifth time since 2019.
In a piece that highlights some of Kelce's best moments and why his teammates appreciate him, ESPN's Adam Teicher uncovered a story about the tight end willing to put his reputation on the line for one of his brothers on the field. The story centers around a former Kansas City Chiefs running back, Charcandrick West - who spent six of his seven seasons in the NFL on the Chiefs.
As the story goes, Kansas City players all stay in a local hotel the night before each home game - with everyone required to arrive by a certain time, or else they'd pay a fine. West was stuck in traffic on his way to the hotel and made the realization that he would not be able to make it to the facility at the required time.
Former teammates of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are sharing positive stories of him. Charcandrick West, who played most of his career in Kansas City, recalled a time that Kelce once waited for him outside a hotel when he was about to run late for a team meeting.
