Trevoh Chalobah has sent a touching farewell message to Crystal Palace fans after being recalled by Chelsea. One of the January transfer window’s most confusing sagas so far was finally settled on Wednesday as the Blues confirmed that they had triggered their option to recall Chalobah early from his season-long loan spell at Selhurst Park.
“Chelsea has recalled defender Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Premier League side Crystal Palace,” Chelsea said in a statement. “The Academy graduate joined the Eagles on loan in August, featured 14 times under Oliver Glasner and scored three goals.
“Chalobah, who has made 80 appearances for the Blues, returns to Stamford Bridge with immediate effect and will join up with Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad. He will wear the No.23 shirt.”. Crystal Palace also confirmed the news, writing ahead of their Premier League clash with Leicester: “Crystal Palace can confirm that Chelsea have activated an option to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell. The defender will return to Chelsea.
