TRIBUTES have been paid to a Hollywood star's ex after she was found dead on the day of his trial for allegedly assaulting her. Jason Hoganson allegedly slapped Rachel Usher after he was released from prison early under Sir Keir Starmer's controversial scheme.
The tattooed thug, 53, gave a thumbs up as he walked free after serving just half his 18 month sentence for assaulting his ex. Hoganson, who had a leading role in the cult 1980s film Empire State, was then put back behind bars just two days later for the alleged attack at Rachel's home.
He was due to stand trial on October 30 but the court was told Rachel had sadly passed away that day. Her cause of death is not known but the tragedy is not related to Hoganson. Tributes have now been paid to 42-year-old Rachel, who had three children. In a funeral notice posted online, her family said she was a "loving daughter" and "much-loved mam" and aunt.
Rachel's sister wrote: "My beautiful sister Rachel, we shared our childhood together, not just my sister my best friend for life. "We’ve shared a whole life together, im going to treasure our memories forever. I love you so much little sis. Till we meet again, all my love your Kezza xxxx".
One pal said: "RIP Rachy I'm so blessed to have all those school day memories with you. And so pleased we have always kept in touch all these years. "I hope you are peace now darling and it isn't goodbye but see you again one day xxx". Another friend wrote: "R.I.P lovely lady. heaven has gained a beautiful angel".
