As royal fans continue to count down the days until Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series hits our screens later this month, many viewers have been excitedly dissecting the trailer shared by the Duchess, which offers a glimpse of ‘With Love, Meghan’ before its official debut on January 15. Yet while the immaculate trailer tries to convey a homely charm to anyone tuning in, one sore point for many fans that had been hoping to seen authentic glimpse of the Duchess’ life, is that it was filmed in a sprawling Californian kitchen that didn’t actually belong to her.
Instead of using her own home, Meghan opted to film the series at an ultra-luxe wedding venue just a stone’s throw from her Montecito home. However, despite the location lacking authenticity, eagle eyed viewers did notice that several personal items belonging to the Duchess had made it into the trailer, and in the process offered a far more indicative view of her own day to day essentials than the staged version we see on screen.
One item brought from her personal kitchen, was the vibrant yellow-and-green lemon squeezer Meghan previously used in her doc-series with Prince Harry, entitled Harry and Meghan. Identified by Hello! as the Zulay Kitchen 2-in-1 lemon squeezer, the budget friendly staple was previously used to make Prince Archie’s birthday cake, and appears to be a huge hit with the Duchess.
Another item fans were quick to spot was a white embossed bowl she used to hold chopped strawberries while cooking with former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer. The Adelaide bowl from Astier de Villatte will no doubt look familiar to many regular followers of the Duchess, as it was previously seen in a teaser for her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
