TV legend Paul Stewart Laing's cause of death revealed after inquest Paul Stewart Laing's cause of death has finally been confirmed following his passing in 2023.
An inquest at Exeter Coroner's Court heard that the TV star had underwent elective surgery for the removal of his gallbladder and common bile duct exploration on January 16, 2023.
"He probably did not have much reserves to fight it," Dr Aditya Kanwar, a consultant surgeon specialising in liver and bladder surgery at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, said.
It's now been confirmed his death was caused by sepsis following surgery.
He had the surgery at Derriford Hospital, following worsening problems with gallstones over eight years.
